About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking associate director to join Avalere Health’s specialist market access consultancy capability, Policy Access, Value and Evidence (PAVE). This is a project leadership, sales and delivery role within the PAVE Global Patient Access Strategy & Commercialization (GPASC) practice and is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a mid-sized consultancy.

This role includes selling and delivering global value engagement market access consultancy solutions to meet the current and emerging needs of pharma/ biotech global market access teams. The associate director will report into the service offering lead within the GPASC Practice and will be expected to demonstrate versatility to design, lead and deliver a range of first in class new-style projects as well as take on accountability for the delivery of traditional value communication work. This role is hands on selling and project delivery, responsible and accountable for the highest levels of payer scientific story stelling and technical content development, grounded in a robust understanding of global payer drivers.

What You'll Do

Duties will include developing, selling and hands-on delivery (client management, project leadership/ management and content) of brand, above brand and health system value strategy, payer value propositions and payer communication toolkits which enable global market access clients to shift payer beliefs to secure both national market access and fully enabled patient access. This includes traditional and innovative iterations of global value pack resources, payer value strategy and payer documentation as well as new types of resources to support compelling client/payer engagement. Many projects will include integral payer insight and strategy methodologies such as conducting payer depth interviews/ payer advisory boards and facilitating strategy discovery workshops with client cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will need first and foremost to demonstrate high impact scientific storytelling skills to create project deliverables which clearly communicate a compelling belief-shifting payer value proposition, laid out in a way which easily engages internal client teams and in turn facilitates the conversations those teams have with payers. This role combines the highest standards of academic rigour in market access strategic thinking, deliverables, technical accuracy and critical appraisal based on a solid understanding of global market archetypes and payer drivers.

About You

This experience needs to include selling and hands-on delivery (client management, project leadership and management and content delivery)

Depth of experience of interpreting complex clinical and health economic data sets to create technically robust and credible content e.g., experience of having personally analysed and extracted data and written global value dossiers, global payer value propositions, global payer objection handlers, payer evidence summaries, HTA submissions/tender dossiers and payer audience thought leadership white papers.

Experience of shaping, challenging and advising global market access clients on best access strategy, including facilitating client cross-functional workshops to achieve these aims.

Curiosity to innovate and lead transformation at this time of great change in the sector.

Creative flair for cutting through technical complexity to develop high impact “snackable” visual content that will drive payer behavioural change e.g., interactive infographics and multi-media payer narrative flows.

Experience of gathering payer insight through depth interviews and advisory board facilitation

Deep understanding of the challenges and best practice ways of working pharma/ biotech global market access teams need to navigate pre-launch and up to loss of exclusivity to ensure payer beliefs are shifted to drive fully enabled patient access.

Experience and gravitas to engage in a consultancy relationship with clients and lead projects to successful outcome on time and on budget.

High resilience and sense of urgency to juggle multiple priorities and mange high levels of client responsiveness.

Coaching, line management a plus

Strong team player

Exemplary proficiency in written and verbal English
