The Business Development Director is a key role in the 1847Financial office and is responsible for providing a full range of marketing expertise, support and leadership to the 1847Financial field office to help drive strong sales results.

Responsibilities
- Assist Managing Principal with the management and business operations of the firm.
- Work with management team and individual financial professionals to develop sales concept guidance, client presentations, and special documents.
- Become and remain well versed in the features and benefits of all Penn Mutual life and annuity products and applicable illustration software.
- Maintain all necessary insurance licenses and the appropriate designation as a general securities principal through FINRA.
- Support recruiting activities.
- Develop and achieve annual recruiting and sales goals, subject to review and approval of the Home Office.
- Assist the Managing Principal in maintaining the records the firm under the Managing Principal’s supervision in accordance with the rules and regulations of and subject at all times to inspection by Penn Mutual. All such records are the property of Penn Mutual.
- Provide a line of communication between the Penn Mutual home office and financial professionals associated with the firm including financial professionals recruited by the Business Development Director as well as financial professionals assigned by Penn Mutual to the firm for supervision.
- Comply with all applicable governmental requirements affecting Manager, the office staff, and financial professionals associated with Business Development Director that relate to activities pursuant to this agreement.
- Notify the home office of Penn Mutual immediately of circumstances of which the Business Development Director has become aware that could give rise to legal proceedings on behalf of or against Penn Mutual.
- It is understood and agreed that the Business Development Director shall undertake the sale of any Penn Mutual product with variable accumulation and benefit provisions only where the Business Development Director is registered with FINRA as a representative of HTK. No compensation shall be payable to Business Development Director pursuant to this agreement for the sale of any variable product absent compliance with the provisions of this subsection.
- Perform other duties of a supervisory nature that may be assigned to Business Development Director by Managing Principal.
- Must act in full compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the business.
- Ensures the firm's and Penn Mutual brand guidelines are consistently met.
- Supports firm community involvement and sponsorship activities.
- Plays lead role in the development and administration of sales contests.
- Comply with Penn Mutual’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Remains current in profession and industry trends.
- Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or Marketing preferred or equivalent work experience. Preferred
Experience
- 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role. Required and
- Life Insurance industry experience a strong plus. Required and
- Solid technical understanding of life and annuity products and sales concepts, technology, related tax laws and state regulations. Knowledge of the business units and operations of Penn Mutual and the retail sales process of financial professionals and marketing campaigns. Required
