Location: Boston, MA        

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Hybrid

POSITION SUMMARY:

The deputy administrative director is responsible for directing all administrative functions within the TEAM UP Center, ensuring effective execution of the Center’s development and growth, including oversight of the Center’s internal operations and certain externally-facing activities. As a member of the Center’s leadership team, the deputy director will work closely with other members of the leadership team to collectively ensure successful completion of all workstreams. This position will also supervise other administrative and operations team members within the Center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage external partnerships and relationships
    • Set up new projects, including contracting, creation of core documents (scope of work, timeline, deliverables, reporting), etc.
  • Support efforts to diversify TEAM UP Center’s funding
    • Oversee team planning and execution of all steps in applying for philanthropic funding, research funding, etc., including proposal planning and development, budget creation, scope of work, etc.
  • Support convening of the TEAM UP Center’s internal and external advisory committees, including the Scientific Advisory Board
  • Oversee team planning and execution of the annual symposium
  • Represent the TEAM UP Center and the executive director at external workgroups and committees
  • Provide direct support to the executive director
  • Support administrative oversight of the Center, including budget and personnel management in collaboration with the Center’s ED and grant administrator.
  • Collaborate closely with the Center’s communication manager to ensure uniform and consistent communication with external partners.
  • Manage and supervise TEAM UP Center staff of 2-5 team members

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s level degree in program administration, business administration, public health, or related field required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • None required. Certification in quality improvement methodology and/or project management preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in program development and management, project management, or equivalent program management experience (e.g. public health initiatives, community organizing)
  • Prior experience in any aspect healthcare settings, with a focus on mental health, child and family well-being desirable
  • Experience producing written reports for external audiences
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations to diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with healthcare policy, clinical model redesign, revenue cycle, payment methodologies a plus
  • Minimum of five years of Supervision experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal/written English communication skills, including excellent grammatical, editing and proofreading skills. 
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, TEAMS) and other web-based applications, including project management software. Ability to produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to be socially perceptive in handling confidential information, communicating policies and procedures, and interacting effectively with a variety of Medical Center personnel and outside personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

The TEAM UP Scaling and Sustainability Center at Boston Medical Center focuses on pediatric behavioral health integration and collaborates with primary care sites to expand access to quality behavioral health care for children and families in multicultural pediatric settings. TEAM UP includes a Learning Community that combines clinical training with practice transformation support to promote implementation of the TEAM UP model of integrated care. At its core, TEAM UP is a social justice initiative, aimed at increasing access to services and quality care in structurally marginalized communities.
