The Opportunity at Komodo Health

Komodo Health is entering the next phase of its journey and is looking to exponentially increase its impact on the US Healthcare system with Komodo Health’s best-in-class Healthcare Map™ and healthcare insights platforms and applications. The Government and Clinical Research team’s overall objective is to establish Komodo Health as the premier partner for government entities for healthcare insights and regulatory decision-making using real-world data.

The Director / Senior Director of Government Programs will be responsible for establishing and improving Komodo Health’s readiness to compete for and execute on government contracts. This government program-experienced individual will lead the robust development of the RFP, contracting, and compliance infrastructure and team to deliver Komodo Health’s products to government entities.

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

  • Established/Improved government contract pre- and post-award infrastructure, including GSA Multiple Award Schedule eligibility, post-award contract management processes and documentation, efficient RFP and RFI processes
  • Established/Improved necessary compliance capabilities including FedRAMP, Section 408 compliance, IT security, audit requirements working with Komodo Health’s legal and compliance teams
  • Co-led submissions of RFP responses and executed government contracts if successful
  • If successful, began building a team of government contracts-experienced individuals to support the infrastructure

You will accomplish these outcomes through the following responsibilities…

  • Lead government business operations and set Komodo Health up for success in winning and executing government contracts
  • Be accountable for the bid for government contract opportunities and compliant execution of won government contracts
  • Build own team and help establish cross-functional FTEs supporting the government business
  • Lead clear cross-functional governance and responsibilities for executing government contracts across the organization

What you bring to Komodo Health:

  • Extensive experience and ownership of government contract RFP and execution operations related to the healthcare technology industry
  • Proven leadership experience with evidence of success to build a government contracts business
  • Experience in effectively building and leading a small team
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence others in a highly cross-matrixed environment
  • Executive presence and experience leading external customer meetings
  • Proven ability to assess capacity and prioritize based on short-term and long-term goals 
  • Demonstration of success in ambiguous and fast-pace environments

Additional skills and experience we’d prioritize (nice to have)…

  • Experience working with real-world data and/or healthcare-related SaaS platforms
  • Experience executing government contracts delivering both product and personnel for a project 
  • Comfort working with data product managers, data scientists, and data engineers
  • Prior experience at a B2B technology/software company
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, develop multiple options/solutions with adherence to compliance/regulatory constraints
  • Understanding of the various healthcare entities and third party payment systems in the United States and how these entities and this system affects the claims data a strong plus but not required

Compensation at Komodo Health

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of pay that we reasonably expect to pay across all U.S. locations and may span more than one career level. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.

The U.S. national starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses as determined in the Company’s sole discretion and in accordance with a written agreement or plan.
$187,000$290,000 USD

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
