Description

OVERVIEW

This position manages the development, production, distribution and change management of mortgage publications at UHM.  This includes oversight of the publication team and the Knowledge Tool team  (UHM proprietary search engines: Ask Alice and Ask UHM).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee the day to day operations of the Publications team and Knowledge Tool team.
  • Publications responsibilities include:
    • Direct, author, edit and proofread content for internal distribution
    • Validate that information is accurate based on mortgage industry requirements and/or ensure appropriate subject matter expert authorization.
    • Manage priorities in a fast paced and continually changing environment.
    • Collaborate with cross function teams such as compliance, risk, training, and operations to gather information and feedback.
    • Oversee the change management process to ensure compliance with regulator requirements.
  • Knowledge Tool responsibilities include
    • Develop strategic plans for optimizing the content needed by users and the user experience in the Knowledge Tools.
    • Oversee the quality and accuracy of the content in the Knowledge Tool
    • Ensure development and maintenance of  Knowledge Tool user guide, policies and procedures
    • Coordinate with IT on the product roadmap of the Knowledge Tool
  • Assign regular performance goals for Partners, and assure completion, while accomplishing your own goals.
  • Report weekly on the performance of the Knowledge tool platform, feedback and Partners, as well as new and updated Publications.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees the Knowledge Tool team including Administrator, Editor, and Instructor as well as Technical Writers dedicated to publications. Team size today is 6.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of mortgage lending experience. Experience must include time in loan processing, underwriting or sales.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • Must be proficient in MS Word  

SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate mortgage underwriting, eligibility and procedureal requirements in an easy to understand and accurate, written form
  • High level of problem solving skills
  • Ability to lead two separate teams that have different systems, goals and needs.
  • Ability to learn new technology: Monday.com; Microsoft ACS, UHMs’ Editor tool
  • Must be very detail oriented – these groups combined track between 500-600  tasks per month.
  • Project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be passionate about the accuracy and clarity of written words provided to Partners.
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Ability to manage  remote and on campus Partners
