Your missions

ASI Eagles is actively seeking a Data Analyst to help support the analysis and reporting for an important Department of Homeland Security federal agency’s customer experience strategy.

 Objectives: 

  • Reporting/Analysis – Work with team members analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights and recommendations, designing and generating reports, and identifying trends and patterns to improve strategy and key performance metrics. Specific activities may include:
    1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and requirements for reporting and analysis
    2. Create business reports that provide insight into key data points
    3. Develop and implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of data. Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout
    4. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness of reporting.
    5. Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations and written reports.
    6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in reporting and analytics including Excel and PowerBI features and best practices.
  • Knowledge Management/SharePoint – Support client in creating and maintaining knowledge management within the client’s SharePoint site, creating positive user experiences that facilitate smooth integrations and online collaboration. Specific activities may include:
    1. Add users, control access to libraries, and set permissions
    2. Create pages, web parts, lists, content types, site columns, master pages, search navigation permissions, and data management
    3. Build workflow forms using SharePoint Designer and PowerApps/Flow
  • Survey Design, Administration, and Analysis – Work with team members conducting root cause analysis and action planning, leveraging a range of data collection methods (e.g., targeted surveys, focus groups, interviews). Specific activities for the team may include:
    1. Design, develop, and deploy customer satisfaction and/or employee surveys
    2. Provide consultation on survey design, deployment, analysis, and interpretation
    3. Develop resources and working aids on a range of survey and data collection topics
    4. Produce survey reports and visualizations using software such as MS Excel, R, SPSS, and Power BI
    5. Conducting statistical analyses to include visualizing data and communicating the meaning of the results to non-technical stakeholders,
  • Business Process Management and Improvement Support – Provide support for improving processes, policies, and guidance. This may include the development of job aids, procedures, concept of operations, web-based publications and guidance and communication plans

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Ability to obtain and/or possess favorable DHS fitness determination
  • BA/BS and 2+ years of consulting experience
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst/Excel Specialist or similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, VB, PowerQuery (including M language) and how to create data connections with files and SharePoint lists
  • Advanced proficiency in SharePoint
  • Strong data gathering and critical thinking skills
  • Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with Salesforce Reporting/Dashboards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills –create clear and client-ready presentations and documents, and communicate reports/analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Capturing clear, comprehensive meeting notes and minutes, as required.

 CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain and/or possess favorable Department of Homeland Security Public Trust
