Background

Dexis Consulting Group (Dexis) implements the Guatemala Justice and Transparency Project as a contractor for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  The Project has as its primary objective the strengthening of security and justice sector institutions to more effectively and efficiently investigate, prosecute and adjudicate crime in order to reduce corruption and impunity in Guatemala.

 

Objective

The Communications and Reporting Specialist will be responsible for reviewing past quarterly performance reports and other documents (e.g., weekly updates and success stories), collecting recent information from the Project’s technical team, and editing, translating and drafting the Annual Technical Report for FY2024 of the Justice and Transparency Project along with other relevant attachments (e.g., success stories). The primary goal of this activity is to ensure that these documents are clear, well-structured, and engaging for the intended audience.

 

Tasks

  • Review past quarterly performance reports and other relevant information for the entire Fiscal Year 2024 to identify the Project’s main activities and outcomes.
  • Collect information from the technical team on the main highlights of their programmatic work in the last quarter of the Fiscal Year (July-September 2024) to inform the Project’s annual report.
  • Interview counterparts, beneficiaries, grantees, and others to gather relevant information for the technical report and success stories.
  • Translate inputs received from the technical team into English and edit for style and grammar.
  • Draft the Project’s Annual Performance Report, ensuring the inputs clearly communicate Project activities and results to targeted audiences.
  • Hold periodical meetings with Project staff to report on progress in the implementation of the above tasks.
  • Conduct other tasks as required to meet the core objective of this consultancy.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Communications, International Studies, Political Science, or similar field.
  • Minimum six years of professional experience in related fields.
  • Demonstrated professional proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to produce clear, concise, well-structured documents in English tailored to USAID.
  • Strong command of grammar, vocabulary, and style, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience managing communications for a project or organization, including drafting reports, blog posts, and/or other key documents is desirable.
  • Preferred experience and/or familiarity with USAID reporting and branding requirements.
  • Familiarity with Guatemalan context, a plus.
