Responsibilities:

The Procurement Specialist will perform a wide variety of tasks and functions related to purchasing goods, accounting, and reconciling expenses, along with other necessary functions to ensure business and administrative needs are fulfilled. The position will serve as the subject matter expert for purchasing, accounting, and departmental expense tracking. The position is responsible for working closely with a variety of departmental program staff to direct and facilitate the full range of fiscal functions needed to ensure the continuity of the credit union.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance or a related field required.
  • Three years of experience in procurement, accounting and expense management required.
  • Purchase to Pay/Procurement software (Basware or similar) and accounting software experience is required.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, analyzing spend and tracking SLAs required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel required; PowerBI experience preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and process a variety of requests i.e.; (RFx), analyze and understand specifications, review and analyze cost proposals, understand basic contracts law terms and concepts.
  • Must be highly motivated with analytical and quantitative skills, very strong communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize work, multi-task efficiently and work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and type English.
  • Must be able to hear and use a telephone.
  • Use of computer requires repetitive keystrokes.

Work Environment:

  • This role is fully remote, with the option to work from our HQ or retail locations
