Tabeo is building the ‘Shopify’ for private healthcare. Our platform simplifies payment and marketing services for local clinical providers including dentists, audiologists and opticians. Customers benefit from a quicker, easier access to relevant payment options in one unified check out flow. In addition, they receive access to i) custom landing pages, ii) email & text campaign builders and iii) dashboard to manage leads.
Today, over 8,000 dentists across the UK use Tabeo. 200 more join our platform every month. Tabeo is the dominant market leader for patient finance and seeks to be the same for cards and capitation plans. Sector specific features and super competitive pricing will help us upsell the service. In parallel, we want to capture more market share in new verticals (hearing and vision care). 99% of payments rely on cards so you build/own the data highway to simplify marketing flows for our Customers.
The business is profitable and we plan to grow revenues by over 100% per year in the next 5 years.
We believe in a remote first approach to work and equip teams with all perks and tools so they can thrive. However, we all come together 2x per year for Team Weeks. We previously met in Dubai, Lisbon and London. Next, it is Budapest and Reykjavik.
About the role:
We’re looking for a senior engineer to join us! We currently have two cross-functional product teams, and hope to add a third in early 2025. We’re ambitious, and have many interesting strategic and technical challenges ahead of us, including:
- A migration away from our legacy system (a containerised platform on Google Cloud) to a new greenfield platform using serverless architecture on AWS
- Working towards our multi-product strategy, the next step of which is to launch & scale our newest product, Plans
- Expanding our target audience to include other primary healthcare providers (like vets and hearing specialists) and other regions
Our legacy system has supported us for 8 years and enabled us to reach >10k dentists and create a sustainable, profitable business. But on the way, we’ve done a lot of things that don’t scale, made plenty of mistakes, and so we’re outgrowing our system. It’s time to use what we’ve learned and build a platform to match our ambitions. You should expect to play a key role in this migration, as well as the set up/maintenance of our infrastructure.
We typically use the following tools and technologies:
- Go to write our application code
- Google Cloud for our legacy infrastructure
- Confluent Kafka for our events handling
- Serverless technologies in AWS e.g AWS API GW, Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, Docker for our new infrastructure
- Postgres for our databases
- Our frontend uses Javascript and TypeScript, & is hosted on Vercel
Our interview process includes:
You’ll start by having an initial call with our recruiter. From there, the process has three main stages:
- A take home task
- A technical interview with our engineering team
- A behavioural interview with our product team
If we extend you an offer, we’ll also arrange for you to meet Paul, our CEO, where you can ask any outstanding questions you have about Tabeo.
Requirements
You should apply if:
- You have strong experience working on a Go backend of a technology product, particularly if you’ve worked with Go or in fintech before
- You’ve worked on a large scale migration and understand the risks + rewards they come with
- You’re comfortable working with a DevOps mentality of “you build it, you run it”
- You have a product mindset: you care about customer outcomes and you want to make data-informed decisions
- You’re comfortable leading on projects that are large in scope, ambiguous, or not well defined
- You’re the kind of person that cares about their team, and works to continuously improve culture, processes and communication.
- You’re excited about the kind of work we’re doing.
