University of Iowa Health Care department of Health Care Information Systems is seeking a Senior Application Developer to provide technical leadership, direction, and technical support for the development, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Interfaces using both Cloverleaf and EPIC Bridges in support of Enterprise integrations.
Position Responsibilities
- Evaluate new systems for interface needs; analyze system interface requirements and estimate required work effort.
- Monitors critical systems in Production.
- Manage operational issues related to interfaces, work with development teams to evaluate, design, and implement appropriate solutions, and maintain necessary documentation.
- maintain the Cloverleaf interface engine including ongoing maintenance and periodic system upgrades.
- Respond to change requests by evaluating requirements and designing modifications to interface logic.
- Evaluates and implements needed modifications to interfaces in response to upgrades of EPIC and other third-party vendor systems.
- Provide first & second level support to customers and application technical teams to evaluate and respond to operational issues.

Education Required
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
- Experience, typically 5-7 years, with healthcare interfaces and major cross application integrations
- Experience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understand business needs.
- Experience acting as a technical project manager or project team lead.
- Experience working with non-technical end-users to define system requirements and define business needs.
- Programming experience using a procedural language.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff.
- Ability to participate in after-hours on-call support.
- Experience with MS tools (e.g., Word, OneNote, Excel, and Outlook)
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and processes.
- Previous experience with Cloverleaf interface engine.
- Previous EPIC Bridges experience.
- Previous Epic application build or integration experience.
- Previous Unix/Linux shell scripting (BASH).
- Previous experience implementing interfaces in a healthcare environment.
- Previous experience configuring the Connexall alert management system.
