Your missions

Program Summary 
GES is seeking qualified candidates to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. The Desktop Virtualization Engineer will work with various Product Owners to deliver new cloud-based desktop virtualization service capabilities in AzureThe desktop virtualization engineer will develop, configure, and deploy IaaS/PaaS and SaaS services within the Azure Cloud to fulfill end user requirements.  

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Designs and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) architecture.  

  • Implementing technical security best practices and guidelines for cloud based VDI solutions.  

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Mastersand other team members to solve technical problems at the network, system, and application levels.  

  • Have a significant role in the evaluation and support of application architectures across platforms to ensure alignment to cloud and application modernization strategies, capabilities and requirement sets. 

  • Work across multiple projects and systems to develop user stories, system design document, implementation plan document, and SOPs. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Experience architecting/deploying/operating VDI based solutions 

  • Experience with Identity Access Management (IDAM), AzureAD, and CyberArk.  

  • Strong scripting experience/background (using PowerShell, BASH, and Python.)  

  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST.  

  • Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, a strong analytical ability.  

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Current IAT Level II or higher Certification such as Security + or CISSP 

  • Possess a current Secret clearance 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience architecting/deploying/operating Azure Virtual Desktop services.  

  • Experience developing and deploying Windows 10 and Windows 11 images in Azure Virtual Desktop 

  • Experience in the Atlassian tool suite, to include JIRA and Confluence 

  • Experience Integrating and Automating MECM/SCCM, Intune, and ServiceNow for management and orchestration of VDI services. 

  • Recognized cloud certification, such as Microsoft Azure Associate Administrator.
