Your missions

The client: 
Our client is a 200+ engineer, Texas-based software development company that specializes in creating cloud-based enterprise solutions. 

Position Overview:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for managing the overall accounting operations of the client, including financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and internal controls. This role is key in ensuring the accuracy of the company's financial information and will work closely with senior management to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, in accordance with GAAP 
    • Coordinate and prepare all regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls:

    • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support long-term financial planning and strategy.
  • Audit and Tax Management:

    • Coordinate all audit activities, including annual external audits and internal audits as necessary.
    • Oversee the companys tax planning and compliance, including coordination with external tax advisors for the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns.
  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Manage and develop the accounting team, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to staff.
  • Cash Management and Treasury:

    • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions to optimize company liquidity and risk management.
    • Monitor financial performance and ensure effective utilization of company resources.
  • Strategic Financial Planning:

    • Act as a financial advisor to the CFO and executive team, providing insights on financial performance and strategic initiatives.
    • Participate in due diligence and integration efforts related to mergers and acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certifications:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
    • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a plus.
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other relevant certifications are beneficial.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
    • Experience working in a publicly traded company and familiarity with SOX compliance is strongly preferred.
    • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
    • Previous experience in leading audits and tax compliance is required.
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of GAAP.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
