JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for driving the adoption and sales of clinical pharmacy services to an assigned payer market.  This individual should have strong payer industry experience, pharmacy expertise, and a proven track record of success in selling clinical and technology products and services. This position is responsible for developing the overall business development plan and executing with payers directly or with channel partners to increase new sales.

The position reports to the Sales Director as an individual contributor role. This person will cover the entire United States with a specific payer segment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales of new business (new companies) to payer segment/ markets. Ability to sell existing solutions or develop new solutions to meet Outcomes and Customer needs.
  • Lead business development activities in territory for the purposes of meeting/exceeding new business targets.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, prospects and internal teams.
  • Serve as thought leader for payer segment.
  • Cultivate relationships, demonstrate various services, and identify new market trends, requirements, and opportunities.
  • Utilize salesforce.com to track opportunities and prospects for forecasting purposes.
  • Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging technologies; learning current and pre-release systems, products, platforms, and complimentary tools. Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Demonstrate seamless teamwork with Marketing, Sales Operations, Product Management & other cross-business counterparts to satisfy customers and win in the marketplace.
  • Collect and communicate marketplace ‘intelligence’ impacting pricing, promotional collateral, product enhancements and forecasting.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience presenting or selling at all organizational levels
  • Proven record of success in the healthcare/pharmacy space
  • Exceptional communication (writing, presenting and listening) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Windows & MS Office (Excel & Windows) as well as networks, internet applications and CRM systems.
  • The ability to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the position.  This may include evenings and weekends to accommodate sales and promotional activities such as trade shows.
  • This position can be based out of any metropolitan area on the eastern half of the United States with easy access to a major airport.  The position can work from home when not traveling in the territory.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% in the territory

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or pharmacy; Pharmacy Degree (PharmD), or other clinical degree, a plus
  • Eight years of relevant sales or other related pharmacy development experience.   Healthcare Information Technology and Clinical Services sales a plus.

The hiring range for this position is $113,140 to $141,000 per year. The actual base pay offered will consider candidate’s geographic location, job related knowledge, experience, and skill amongst other potential factors. There may be a bonus or commission, and/or a long-term incentive that will be provided as part of the compensation package, along with medical, financial and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
