Job description

Overview:

The Director of Human Resources is an integral part of our employee relations team. In conjunction with the central HR team, the HR Director ensures the execution and success of HR plans, programs and practices for their specific business groups within Audacy. The ideal candidate is a master of building and maintaining truly authentic consultative relationships and strategic partnerships with employees and managers, including C Suite level executives. The candidate has coached employees at all levels, and is quick to become a trusted advisor.  The ideal candidate has deep experience in employee relations, change management, coaching, mentoring, mediating, policy implementation and more.

This opportunity supports both local markets as well as central business units, with company-wide visibility.  As a member of the central HR team,  there are opportunities for this position to also lead certain company wide HR initiatives and projects.  This is a hybrid work from home position, in office presence (NYC) required 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

 

What You'll Do:

 

  • Provides guidance and advice on employee relations matters, ensuring successful partnerships across the organization.
  • Consults and supports managers, while ensuring fair and respectful treatment of team members.
  • Conducts thorough, objective, prompt investigations on employee relations matters.
  • Point of contact for employees and managers on company policies, programs and initiatives.
  • Coaches and advises management on performance management, disciplinary matters.
  • Advises and implements employment terminations.
  • Implements various projects and policies in conjunction with the central HR team and other key stakeholders.
  • Guides and supports local HR administrative staff with weekly meetings to address and resolve questions and ensure HR initiatives are executed.
  • Partners with legal, finance, HR and management to facilitate various workforce initiatives such as reduction in force, restructures, acquisitions, etc.
  • Ensures understanding, consistent application, and compliance of defined policies, programs and procedures and all state and local employment laws.
  • Partners with management on value added strategic priorities such as employee culture initiatives, employee surveys, diversity, equity and inclusion and more.

Required & Preferred:

 

  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations
  • Experience with collective bargaining agreements and working with high profile talent
  • Union experience required
  • Must possess knowledge of all state and local ordinances related to employment, as well a federal laws across the United States
  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring and mitigating challenging employee issues, including performance improvement plans and terminations
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, along with the ability to manage multiple and competing demands.
  • Track record of leadership, driving accountability across the HR function, and a hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to build trust and good faith with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Value-oriented behavior – trustworthiness, good listener, high integrity and maintains strict confidence.

Pay Transparency:

 

The anticipated starting salary range for New York based individuals expressing interest in this position is $90k-$150k. 
 
Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
