CleanChoice Energy, a national renewable energy provider and developer that empowers people to change the world with how they power their lives, is seeking a Project Developer and Manager to join the Generation team.  This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing company with a mission to make clean energy feel easy and rewarding, by growing the movement for clean energy and building clean power plants like solar.

Job Description 

The Project Developer and Manager will be responsible for leading the development of solar and energy storage projects in PJM, ISONE, NYISO. This will include advancement of an existing project pipeline along with due diligence and onboarding of projects added to the pipeline through our M&A efforts. The Project Developer and Manager will report to the EVP of Operations, Generation.  Additionally, the position will interface and coordinate with cross functional teams such as Greenfield Siting, Finance, Engineering, Construction, Acquisitions, and Legal. The Project Developer and Manager day-to-day project responsibilities will include management of an Associate Project Manager and ensuring the successful development and execution of the project pipeline.

Responsibilities
  • Successfully navigate greenfield and acquisition projects through the full development lifecycle, achieving NTP and working closely with the finance, construction and operations teams to transition into operating assets.
  • Coordination with contractors & vendors to ensure pricing and deliverables are consistent across markets meeting financier/investor requirements.
  • Lead interconnection application processes.
  • Lead stakeholder outreach campaigns and land use permitting.
  • Participate in and monitor market conditions, providing input to policy, permitting and interconnection topics necessary to maintain or enhance project viability.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets including cash flows, clearly communicating project spend profiles to executive management to ensure development milestones are met.
  • Clearly communicate to executive management project funding requests, risk exposure/mitigation and expected returns.
  • Provide legal team with support for the review and negotiation of documents.
  • Collaborate with cross functional team leads to ensure development efforts align with business plans and corporate goals.
  • Maintain landowner and stakeholder relationships throughout the development process. 
  • Lead the handoff of the project to the EPC team at start of construction. 
Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years of extensive and verifiable successes in the solar and or energy storage in applicable markets, PJM a plus.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (i.e. technical, business, science).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • The individual will be a self-starter able to multitask, work both independently and in collaborative environments.
  • Ability to mentor and manage staff.
  • Proficient computer skills and software such as Microsoft Office suite including Excel, MS Project Word, and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience a plus.
Travel
  • This is a remote position with approximately 50% travel required which can include project sites, industry events, land use hearings, stakeholder engagement meetings, team meetings, and CleanChoice events.
