Job Description

In this role, you will provide component engineering support to the Research, Development and Supply Chain teams for electrical components, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical components. As a component Engineer you will work closely with NPD Engineering, Research and Strategic Sourcing teams; in component specifications, component selection, component qualification, and parts management process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Component database scrubbing to address obsolescence, lead time issue, product enhancement and cost reduction activities
  • Supplier PCN reviews, Manufacturing Change Notifications, support supplier audits
  • Monitor, identify and resolve lifecycle issues and assist engineering and supply chain teams to identify appropriate substitutes for electric/electronic/electro-mechanical components (EOL/LTB/NRND, PCNs, etc.)
  • Finding alternate parts from different supplier with exact form, fit and function
  • Maintain REACH/RoHS Compliance status on all components and system level assemblies
  • Perform component database Risk Analysis and maintenance

Qualifications

Position Requirements:  

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in Component Engineering or engineering related discipline
  • Experience using component risk and obsolescence management tools (Silicon Expert, Z2Data, etc.)
  • Proficient in reading electronic component specifications and drawings
  • Understanding of regulations such as RoHS, REACH, PFAS, etc.
  • Experience with product development, and product life cycle
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a diverse, cross-functional team.

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
