Responsibilities:

 

 

• Manage and direct the activities of the Claims Department to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, investor guidelines, and applicable state/federal laws and regulations
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place for key tasks/job functions in each area to ensure compliance with investor, insurer, client, and company policies, procedures, and requirements
• Set appropriate goals for the department and ensure they are in line with management and corporate goals
• Manage, coach, counsel and develop subordinate staff
• Ensure adequate staffing, training, and development of all staff members
• Ensure policies and procedures for all areas are reviewed and updated quarterly as needed and sent to quality control for review
• Prepare and distribute monthly management trend reports to report results and key activities in all areas
• Participate in client calls as scheduled to discuss loans within the claims pipeline
• Review/confirm accuracy of monthly report cards to vendors outlining their overall performance and level of compliance with company requirements
• Review and confirm vendor monthly billing
• Request, create/prepare, update/revise, review, test, finalize/approve, and maintain the department’s policies and procedures; conduct training
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

 

 

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in default mortgage servicing and/or the legal field with a significant degree of technical knowledge in default administration and investor/insurer guidelines and compliance
• 3+ years of managerial experience
• Strong knowledge of accepted business practices in the mortgage industry and understanding of claims processing for HUD, FHLMC, FNMA, and VA
• Strong knowledge of foreclosure process and appropriate guidelines
• Strong negotiation and mediation skills; ability to structure a negotiation that serves the best interests of LoanCare
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving, research, interpretive, and decision-making skills.
• Strong knowledge of LPS-MSP (Mortgage Servicing Platform)
• CMAX knowledge preferred
• Ability to communicate and work with all levels of management
• Ability to motivate and train staff
• Ability to manage time and priorities wisely
• Ability to take initiative and work under minimal supervision; ability to work under time pressure and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Ability to meet client, department, and investor standards regarding job knowledge, quality, efficiency, initiative, teamwork, customer service, productivity, and overall performance
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and by telephone
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
