Position: Product Development Manager 

Reports to: VP, Marketing

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time (10-12 Months) & Hybrid (4 days in-office & 1 day work from home). Please note the estimated start date is November 2024

WHAT YOU’LL DO        

As the Product Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading clients through product design by tracking and analyzing relevant market data, design trends and consumer feedback for the purpose of providing insight and recommendations on development projects; this includes floorplans, unit mix, home finishes and amenities. In this role, you’ll lead project envisionings and product ideation sessions with our prospective and current clients in the preliminary design phases of their projects. 


This is a highly collaborative role that will require you to have strong communication skills in order to lead clients through the presentation of big ideas and frequently work across various internal departments. We’re looking for an individual who is highly analytical with a passion for real estate and design, likes working with many different teams and covets a fast paced environment that is focused on innovation and service.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor competitor activities, market conditions and trends across all markets rennie is in, as well as new markets, through research and collaboration with the Intelligence department

  • Guide and makes recommendations to client regarding floorplans, unit mix sizing, interior design firm selection, and amenity programming in a rennie branded deliverable

  • Collect and analyzes data to support product development recommendations 

  • Facilitate market surveys that forecast buyer trends, needs and wants and leads the summary and roll out to the broader Developer Service team and market

  • Collaborate with multiple departments such as Intelligence, Advisory and Developer Services to transfer information effectively and increase efficiency of effecting high quality service for our clients 

  • Create development price towers, including pricing adjustments and recommendations

  • Educate the Developer Services team on competitor activities, market conditions and trends for floorplans, unit mix, interior design and building amenities 

  • Direct work for the Product Team to effectively lead clients 

  • Responsible for hiring, promotion and performance assessment of direct reports 

  • Prepare and leads product envisioning sessions for prospective and current clients

  • Improve processes, systems, or products to enhance efficiency of the Product team and the deliverables produced

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Leadership


WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in real estate, interior design, architecture or a related field

  • Degree or diploma in architecture, interior design, marketing or a related field


Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of real estate markets in which rennie has presence 

  • Collaborative, creative, flexible, and innovative team player team player with an ability to work effectively with peers, senior leaders, and key stakeholders 

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, always maintains composure and an action-oriented attitude

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with good judgment to make timely and sound decisions 

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow 

  • Ability to conduct research projects

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful insights

  • Excellent report writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, well-structured, and reader-friendly documents.

  • Exceptional knowledge of floorplans, unit mix, interior design and building amenities

  • Ability to present confidently in boardroom meetings with clients

  • Advanced skills using the Microsoft Office or Google Suite products and experience with Adobe Acrobat and CRM systems (Salesforce) preferred


Salary Information

The typical base salary for this specific position is from $73,600 to $92,000.  The salary offered is based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors including education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and organizational needs. We also have a performance based bonus program that supports our employees by recognizing exceptional individual performance and company success.


Working Conditions

  • Our home office is located just outside of Granville Island in Kitsilano and this role is primarily office based with some flexibility to work remotely

  • You must have the ability to travel to project sites as needed, so a vehicle or reliable transportation is required
