Applicants must be active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone up to E-4 who is interested in an entry-level position, starting as a SkillBridge intern, to learn about Federal Government Contracting and Business Development!

What you will be trained on & what you will learn in this internship:
You will receive either CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) or BDP (Business Development Professional) certification training from Vets2PM; and our OJT partner will teach you about project management, core business development, productivity business software, federal government contracting, proposal writing, and lead capture development.

About our OJT Partner (as a Vets2PM SkillBridge intern, you will not be expected to have all of the listed knowledge & skills): 
Reyes Sourcing, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business with a proven track record in federal government contracting, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Discipline Federal Capture Manager, Business Developer, and Proposal Writer. This position is crucial for our continued growth and success in the federal contracting market. The ideal candidate will require knowledge of FAR regulations, SAM.Gov, government contracting, construction, and related skill sets, along with proficiency in Smartsheet (Excel), Adobe, MS Word, and OSHA regulations.

Founded in 2014 by Jeffrey Reyes, a Service-Disabled U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, Reyes Sourcing excels in maintaining the highest level of integrity in today's competitive government contracting market. We are strategically positioned with select teaming agreements and joint ventures to meet the complex requirements of the federal contracting sphere.

Key Responsibilities:

Capture Management:
  • Lead the capture management process for federal opportunities on SAM.gov.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities in the federal market.
  • Develop and implement capture strategies and win themes.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and develop strategies to counter competitor strengths.
  • Manage and coordinate the capture team efforts, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Business Development:
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute business development plans to expand the company's federal contracting portfolio.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for teaming agreements and joint ventures.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

Proposal Writing:
  • Lead the proposal development process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with solicitation requirements.
  • Write, edit, and format proposals, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather necessary information and incorporate it into proposals.
  • Manage the proposal review and approval process, ensuring timely submission.

Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all capture and proposal activities comply with FAR regulations and other relevant federal contracting guidelines.
  • Stay updated on changes in federal contracting regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for the team on FAR regulations and compliance.
  • Construction and OSHA Compliance:
  • Understand and apply construction industry standards and OSHA regulations in the context of federal contracting.
  • Ensure all proposals and projects comply with relevant construction and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers and safety officers to integrate compliance measures into project plans.

Qualifications (As a SkillBridge intern, you will not be expected to have ALL the qualifications):
  • High School to bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, environmental Construction Management, or a related field applicable to federal government contracting.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in federal government contracting, lead capture management, business development, and proposal writing.
  • Proficient knowledge of FAR regulations and federal contracting processes.
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet, Adobe, MS Word, and other relevant software.
  • Experience/knowledge of federal service or construction industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated success in securing federal contracts and achieving business development goals.

Not all internships include certification training by Vets2PM, as many host companies include their own internship-focused training instead.
