Job description

Eckert Seamans, a national, full-service AmLaw 200 firm, actively seeks a fully remote Associate to join its Commercial Litigation practice. The candidate must be admitted to practice in Connecticut, and preference will also be given to those with admissions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. Candidates should have at least two (2) to five (5) years of commercial litigation experience in various federal and state litigation matters and experience in all facets of litigation, including drafting motions, taking and defending depositions, handling complex discovery (written discovery, document productions, subpoenas, depositions, protective/confidentiality orders, etc.), and preparing cases for trial.

In addition, candidates who may also have experience in the financial services litigation practice encouraged to apply.  The financial services industry has long been one of the most complex, highly regulated, and carefully scrutinized business segments.  The volatility of economic and credit markets and mortgage foreclosure matters have created challenges for banks, lenders, and other financial services institutions, including voluminous lawsuits and government investigations attacking fundamental business practices.  Qualified candidates should have at least two (2) to five (5) years of financial services litigation experience, knowledge and familiarity with representing financial institutions and mortgage servicers in real property matters, and experience with class action litigation and court experience would be considered a plus.

Candidates must have strong analytical, research, and writing skills sufficient to prepare status reports and case assessments and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be an independent self-starter committed to growing a thriving practice for the long term.

We invite you to apply if you have substantive litigation experience and are looking for an exciting opportunity in a growing, collaborative firm where your contributions are valued.
