Job description

Senior Director, Arts & Culture

As the Senior Director, Arts & Culture, US, you will lead the execution of initiatives related to arts and culture across the United States. You will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for partnerships, managing the realization of global strategies, overseeing local activations, and nurturing regional relationships. This position requires regular travel within the United States and to our global headquarters in London.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

  • Collaborate with the Global Arts & Culture Team in London to conceptualize local strategies in alignment with the broader international vision.
  • Scout and assess partnerships with cultural institutions and non-profits.
  • Execute all local activations and events, ensuring alignment with the global strategy and resonance with local audiences.
  • Implement the Global Arts & Culture Team’s international strategy, aligning it with organizational objectives in the US.
  • Cultivate key stakeholders in the local culture community.

You are energized by:

  • Strategic development of Arts & Culture initiatives.
  • Liaising with US Teams to validate the use of fine, visual, and performance artists in any other Chanel activities.
  • Coordinating with the US Events team to ensure visibility and alignment with their initiatives, including three major film projects.
  • Collaborating closely with the US Internal Comms team to provide and tailor important information for distribution across channels.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Minimum of 12 years in a senior leadership role within the arts and culture sector, demonstrating a successful track record in strategy implementation and partnership development.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to envision and execute global strategies while adapting them to suit local markets and cultural nuances.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with diverse stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Relationship Management: Proven experience in managing and nurturing partnerships and relationships with cultural institutions and stakeholders.

Position Logistics:

  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the US and internationally as required.
  • Oversee the realization of global strategies and local activations.
  • Manage and nurture relationships for the Culture Pass program.

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $172,600-$200K. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
