Job Summary:

The Primary Care & Medicine Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and executing on business development strategies, Primary Care & Medicine development outreach, and working collaboratively with team members to deploy initiatives across the Primary Care & Medicine service line (PCMSL) as directed by the Vice President of the Primary Care & Medicine Service Line. The position is responsible for providing market analysis for the PCMSL and opportunity analysis for new and emerging business opportunities. Partnering with PCMSL, operational and financial leaders; develops and implements business plans for new and existing programs. Responsible for vetting new technologies to explore inclusion within the service line to enhance patient care or operational efficiencies. The manager would also serve as the administrative dyad to the physician leaders of the PCMSL which includes the service line chief and service line medical directors. Responsible for partnering with the Wellstar Business Development office to execute outreach strategies for the PCMSL. Partners with Wellstar and contracted marketing resources to review and develop marketing strategies. Works to increase referral provider knowledge base, access, understanding, and comfort with WellStar Medical Group Primary Care & Medicine providers, care, and communication. Reporting to the Vice President for the PCMSL, this position requires interface and communication at all levels within the organization, including but not limited to senior leaders, management, physicians, referral market administrator, referral market clinicians, community partners, and industry partners.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

- Business Development Outreach a. Vets and develops business plans related to new strategic or technological initiatives within the PCMSL b. Participates as a key contributor to the development of the PCMSL strategic plan, including collecting and presenting the data and competitive analysis to ensure new/existing services and opportunities achieve WellStar Health Systems strategic growth planning. c. Consults with appropriate management team members to develop departmental and service line strategic plans. Conducts a review of strategic planning activities to identify alternative methods and procedures to improve these services and their referral access. d. Partners with the System Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) to organize and execute on strategic initiatives and plans. e. Accountable for tracking, measuring performance and updating the PCMSL strategic plan f. Maintains connections with Industry partners to identify and develop partnerships to enhance patient care delivery g. Administrative lead to evaluate new technologies and business strategies h. Partners with the Wellstar Business Development office to execute outreach strategy for the PCMSL i. Partners with Wellstar and contracted marketing resources to review and develop marketing strategies. j. Participates with negotiation teams that may be called upon for joint venture formation, acquisition or merger of business entities, or when necessary, the divestiture of assets or business units. k. Collaborates across service lines and works effectively in a network environment inclusive of management team members, finance, physicians, nursing, and related clinical services. l. Delivers service line presentations to referring physicians and other key stakeholders
- Provide operational leadership, advisory and consultative skills to project needs and initiatives. a.Schedule and host regular status meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholders needs and requirements continuously in view b.Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work c.Identify potential crises and devise contingency plans d.Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project e.Assist in other operational and improvement and implementation projects, as required
- Deliverable development and procurement a.Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations b.Lead or help to create needed deliverable documents as assigned by project leadership i.These may include draft RFPs, job descriptions, policies and procedures, presentations, story boards, organizational charts, etc c.Facilitate policies and procedures during the project needed to meet deliverables (contract facilitation/management)
- Other duties as assigned a.Provide facilitation and organization of large meetings, leadership teams and groups as requested b.Lead the gathering and dissemination of materials for meetings, provide edits and restructuring. c.Attend management, project team, and customer meetings as requested

  • Masters Health Administration or Masters Business Administration/Management or Masters Other
