Job summary
The Field Sales Engineer I (FSE) is the subject-matter expert and technical sales lead for ESET’s product portfolio and is primarily responsible for supporting the ESET Sales team with technical sales activities in new and pre-existing opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The FSE I works closely with their assigned territory Channel Sales Manager, Sales Account Managers, and Channel Sales Partners in order to develop business opportunities, drive sales, grow assigned territory, and maintain a high-level of customer satisfaction.
The FSE demonstrates sales awareness and serves as the technical bridge between ESET Sales and their pre-sales customers and channel sales partners. The FSE is expected to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment with the overall mission to increase ESET solution adoption by demonstrating the functionality and value of the ESET portfolio to ESET partners, customers, and the cybersecurity market in general.
• The FSE supports all phases of the ESET Sales lifecycle, including presenting at events, providing product demos, product evaluation support, and responding to RFPs/RFIs.
• Work with assigned ESET Partner Account Managers to build and maintain key relationships with ESET Channel Sales Partners for the development and enablement of their selling effectiveness.
• Participate in QBR and customer reviews with assigned territory sales team.
• Conduct and manage technical sales calls, web meetings, onsite meetings, trials, and proof of concepts with ESET customers and partners.
• Maintain an up-to-date, functional, and effective demo environment for all ESET and ESET Partner solutions, including sufficient back up for disaster recovery purposes.
• Creation and delivery of custom technical presentations and Sales demo kits for espousing the ESET product line.
• Stay current with ESET product knowledge, industry security knowledge, and knowledge of competitive solutions in order to effectively address and dispel prospect objections to ESET solutions.
• Serve as an evangelizing SME advocating the value of the ESET product line at trade shows, seminars, and other industry and partner events.
• Provide technical product training and guidance to the ESET Sales Teams, ESET Channel Sales Partners, and ESET customers.
• Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Development serving as the technical bridge between ESET departments, ESET and its partners, prospects, and customers.
• Provide feedback to Product Development regarding product changes as it relates to customer and market requirements in order to improve our business and our customers’ success.
• Keep an accurate Outlook calendar for scheduling and also maintain up-to-date notes in CRM for all sales related activities.
• Support your fellow Sales Engineers.
• Travel within assigned territory and US.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant on-the-job experience.
• At least 3 years of Sales Engineering, System Administration, Professional Services or Technical Consulting experience. Security software industry experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills. This includes writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
• The ability present and articulate complex security topics to diverse external audiences, including C-level executives.
• Must be available to work outside the 8-5 schedule as needed to meet the demands of the department and our customers.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
EXPERIENCE:
• Customer-facing technical sales experience.
• Administrator-level experience with Microsoft operating systems, Macintosh operating systems, Linux operating systems, Android/IOS, and web server technologies (IIS and Apache.)
• Experience with Active Directory in deploying, maintaining, and administering Active Directory objects and related directory services.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint server, and Office365.
• Experience with data encryption, multi factor authentication, and data loss prevention technologies.
• A solid understanding of private and public network topologies, TCP/IP routing, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, LDAP, and network/security hardware such as routers, firewall, switch, and proxy.
• Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and determine root cause of a system or network symptom and remediate.
• Proficient Knowledge of virtualization/VDI technologies.
• Hands on experience with Microsoft SQL and MySQL servers and database.
• Solid understanding of IT Information Security concepts.
• Experience with endpoint protection and network security including workstation and server protection, firewalls, SIEM, HIPS/IDS, content security, anti-SPAM technology, mobile device security, and cloud server security.
• Experience with installing and configuring EDR tools and/or experience with malware, network forensics, threat hunting and response.
• An understanding of malware, malware vectors, risk, propagation, and prevention.
• Experience with threat intelligence and sandbox analysis.
