Your missions

Leidos is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NAS NAVAIDS programs.

Work location is College Park, GA

Hybrid, in office/remote, position

20% travel to conduct on site surveys and reviews

The projects will range over the geographic scope of the eastern service area

This position provides assistance in design, planning, cost estimating, scheduling, engineering, coordination, contracting, installation, inspection, and acceptance of electrical systems/services as part of the Eastern Service Area (ESA) implementation of a wide variety of NAS NAVAIDS programs and projects, which includes the MALSR SLEP program.  

The Civil Engineer will ensure accuracy of design, products, and timeliness of completion.  

  • Support NAVAIDs design work – MALSR SLEP program and other NAVAID’s design work
  • Serve as design project lead for NAVAID’s assigned project(s)
  • Perform on-site, site surveys to develop designs and detailed reports
  • Conduct and analyze studies of existing facilities
  • Confer with multi-disciplinary engineering staff and other personnel to identify and resolve problems with the design or implementation
  • Perform project management related tasks and communication (including safety plans, sequence of work, cutover plans, risk management plans, lead and asbestos work permits)
  • Participate in on-site coordination meetings, inspections, cutovers, testing and restoration of facilities
  • Provide monthly and semi-annual work status reports
  • Track and reconcile closure of project punchlist exceptions
  • Perform internal design reviews of other projects

Civil Engineer Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
  • Four years of relevant experience in commercial, industrial or government facility replacement and modernization design engineering OR a Masters and two years of relevant experience
  • Current and relevant knowledge of building and other codes
  • Ability to obtain and maintain public trust suitability (To be eligible for the FAA Public Trust you must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder who has resided in the US for the past 3 years)

Civil Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer in good standing in the United States
  • Prior FAA experience

Pay Range:
Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
