Overview

TNS is Looking for a motivated and customer-oriented system and customer support technician to join the exciting world of global financial markets

Join our dynamic team as systems and application support technician, where you'll engage in supporting and troubleshooting a diverse range of issues for Transaction Network Services clients. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Linux, Networking, Market Data Infrastructures, financial markets, and client integration. Your key responsibilities will include identifying the root causes of incidents, leading triage meetings, and advising clients on optimal solutions.

In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, you will be expected to continuously enhance your skills through on-the-job training in new software, monitoring tools, and market data infrastructures. Collaboration with colleagues is crucial for expanding and automating daily tasks and for advancing our client monitoring capabilities. Prompt and effective client communication is essential; thus, meticulous documentation of your work is imperative to expedite resolutions for recurring issues and improve overall service efficiency.

Responsibilities

Job Description: (including but not limited to)

  • Utilize event management systems for ongoing monitoring of performance, availability and pre-failure alerting taking appropriate actions in response to alerts.
  • Manage and resolve assigned service incident tickets, following incident management process and procedure.
  • Support customer incident management bridges and calls.
  • Support Major Incident Management and fault resolution.
  • Support Problem Management and root cause analysis.
  • Perform Linux administration on market data systems as directed (TREP, Bloomberg, SOLACE, OneTick, DACS, EMRS, ZABBIX, etc.).
  • 3+ years experience in a technical operations support role.
  • Strong understanding of Unix, Linux - Red Hat / CentOS, etc.
  • Hands on experience with cloud and storage technologies
  • Network Operational experience – strong understanding of TCP/IP,Multicast, Routing
  • Ability to write / understand scripts- csh/ksh/perl/python/php
  • Support clients’ Market Data Permissions Systems and Data Permissions Change processes.
  • Undertake routine maintenance activities for internal systems.
  • Support the creation of routine status reports.
  • Participate in new client system builds.
  • Production and maintenance of systems documentation.
  • Support Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Assist with project planning and implementation.
  • Work as part of a global team that provides 24x7 coverage on a rotation basis, hence must be available for shift work.
