Backend Technical Lead, Java

Are you an experienced Java developer with a passion for leading teams and driving innovation in the payment industry? Talent Hunter is seeking a Backend Technical Lead to join one of Europe's leading payment providers. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that offers a wide range of payment solutions to internet-based merchants worldwide.

Our client is a fast-growing payment provider with global reach, offering payment processing, acquiring, e-wallet, and issuing services. They are looking for a skilled Backend Technical Lead to join their team and help drive their mission forward.

Responsibilities

  • Technically lead a team of highly skilled professionals
  • Design and implement solution components according to technology best practices
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to clarify scope and assignments
  • Help with the initial work breakdown structure and estimations
  • Provide mentorship and code reviews to team members
  • Participate in troubleshooting and technical analyses to improve performance and availability
  • Proactively identify potential improvements and lead their implementation
  • Review the quality of all deliverables: code, tests, documentation
  • Take part in scaling highly available payment services (99.99% uptime)

Requirements

  • 10+ years of development experience
  • 2+ years leading a team as a technical and/or team manager
  • 6-7+ years using core Java and/or J2EE, Spring
  • Knowledge of ORM solutions, e.g., Hibernate
  • Advanced database experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
  • Experience in JavaScript
  • Comfortable with TDD/BDD practices, JUnit
  • Self-starter, taking ownership, passionate about high-quality software systems
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working, motivated person with excellent communication skills and a sense of humor
