About the Role
 

In this role, you will conduct investigations, offer legal guidance, manage investigation quality, engage with stakeholders, utilize data analytics, and help coordinate trade sanctions compliance.
 

Responsibilities

  • Conducting Compliance Investigations: Investigate compliance incidents in the U.S. and Europe to ensure adherence to laws and RELX's Code of Ethics.
  • Providing Legal Guidance: Advise on corporate compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing Investigations Quality: Coordinate with compliance testing to ensure consistent incident management.
  • Providing Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with teams to drive a culture of compliance and transparency.
  • Conducting Operational Oversight: Support the global trade sanctions compliance program by drafting sanctions policies and identifying programmatic enhancements.
  • Testing and Monitoring: Design processes to test and monitor compliance with sanctions policies.
  • Training and Communications: Develop materials and provide legal advice to support an effective sanctions compliance program.
  • Conducting Risk Assessments: Identify potential areas of trade compliance vulnerability and support remedial measures.


Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree; and JD with active bar admission.
  • Demonstrate an extensive background in legal compliance, investigations, and trade sanctions.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of relevant trade sanctions laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Be able to analyze problems and make decisions to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Have excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Be able to develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Have professional certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional CCEP) is advantageous.
