Job description

Director of Partnerships - Startups & SMBs

The Build Fellowship is a nationwide, cap-exempt H-1B visa fellowship offered to foreign national innovators, experts, and talent seeking to grow careers and companies in the United States. Build Fellows are employed by Build Fellowship non-profit partners part-time and sponsored for cap-exempt H-1B visas. Build Fellows contribute to the missions of non-profit partners and to the social and economic success of the United States by opening career pathways for the future U.S. workforce.

We are looking for a Director of Partnerships to focus on growing partnerships with SMBs and startups. This outbound sales position requires a proactive, results-oriented individual with strong communication and relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying and securing partnerships with SMBs, startups, and leveraging digital lead generation tactics to attract potential clients. The role includes building strategic partnerships with potential lead generators and involves posting on LinkedIn and engaging a network.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy to increase customer acquisition among SMBs and startups.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities to reach SMBs and startups with quality immigration information and our unique work visa solution.
  • Represent the organization externally in meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Manage executive-level relationships with key partners, including C-level stakeholder management.
  • Develop and maintain pipeline tools and reporting.
  • Work with the Executive Director to identify and develop relevant partnerships for fundraising efforts and program expansion.
  • Liaise with the Build marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and thought leadership efforts.
Who you are:
  • You bring a strong work ethic with a high aptitude for learning new things
  • Shared passion for the mission and work of The Build Fellowship
  • Strong attention to detail, coupled with problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities
  • Prior experience in business development (outbound sales) and/or partnership management
  • Demonstrated experience bringing impactful strategic deals and partnerships to life from conception to execution
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated, self-directed, and confident individual contributor who can thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and project management skills

If you believe you could be a good fit for this role and are ready to contribute to the success of The Build Fellowship, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity!

What We Offer
  • We work from anywhere and offer in-person office and travel opportunities to all full-time employees; we also have an annual in-person retreat.
  • Unlimited days of PTO annually
  • 10 Federal Paid Holidays
  • Comprehensive Medical Insurance (Health, Dental & Vision)
  • 8 weeks of paid parental leave

Location | Ideally, you are based in Boston, MA or New York, NY. That being said, anywhere in the USA is fine - we are a fully remote company.

Base salary range | $80,000 - $150,000 annually, with potential for significant commission

Here at the Build Fellowship by Open Avenues, we believe that great ideas come from anywhere. We support a collaborative environment and value open participation from individuals with different ideas, experiences, and perspectives. We believe having a diverse team makes Open Avenues a more interesting and innovative place to work, and we strive every day to make Build a welcoming and inclusive place for all.

Recognizing the impact of system inequities in hiring, we encourage women, people of color, LGBTQIA+ community members, and others to apply even if they do not meet 100% of the qualifications. We look forward to your application.
