This is a remote position.

As the largest, exclusive firefighter credit union in the nation with over $2.0B in assets, we serve over 64,000 members in more than 1,000 fire departments. 

 

Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team! The senior financial analyst at Firefighters First Credit Union (FFCU) runs the Asset/ Liability Management (ALM) model, forecasts future financial performance, and measures various financial risks including interest rate and liquidity. The senior financial analyst also provides strategic and tactical recommendations to management to maximize financial performance.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Maintains and validates advanced financial ALM modeling to include reviewing appropriate assumptions based on current economic conditions and keeps track of changes that impact results.
  • Utilize model to develop projections of Net Income, Liquidity and balance sheet valuations under various interest rates, strategic and economic scenarios.
  • In partnership with the management team, develop FFCU’s strategic and tactical financial plans.
  • Develop, interpret, and implement highly complex financial accounting concepts and advanced techniques for financial planning and control.
  • Analyze variances to plans, including descriptions of variances due to rate, volume, and changes in member behaviors, expense and revenue line items.
  • Utilize monitoring techniques and programs (e.g., reports including Board financial, ALCO, NCUA, 5300 Call Report, Raddon Financial Analysis) to evaluate profit plans, capital expenditures, proposals, investment opportunities, operating records and financial statements.
  • Maintain data sets and produce reports from financial databases to support decisions regarding various products, promotions, targeting, profitability, and related risks.
  • Work on other assignments to support the credit union’s efforts to deliver value-added products and services to members.
  • Participate on project teams by providing specialized knowledge, skills, or resources to progress the business.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience performing financial analysis.
  • Experience performing financial research to make business recommendations (i.e., budgetary controls, acquisition activity, etc.).
