Chief Financal Officer (Fractional)

This is a remote position.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Update the CEO and Finance Dept. with daily progress/stand-up reports on companies financial position.
  
• Prepare monthly/annual financial reports and analysis for presentation to the CEO.
  
• Responsible for the company's annual budget and ensuring the company remains in a cash-positive position.
  
• Responsible for making recommendations for increasing profitability and implementing an efficient collections strategy.
  
• Recommend and implement global best practices for the Finance Dept.
  
• Level four (4) sign-off responsibility for financial reports and government filings.
  
• Level four (4) sign-off responsibility for data entry in accounting software.
  
• Responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts.
  
• Report risk/financial concerns with suggested solutions to the management upon discovery.
  
• Prepare monthly payroll calculations and payslips for all team members.
  
• Prepare monthly GCT and Payroll Tax computations and process payments.
  
• Prepare and issue quotes and invoices.
  
• Review, approve and negotiate vendor bills in collaboration with Growth Dept.
  
• Prepare and process all internal and external payments in collaboration with the C-Suite.
  
• Resolve issues /concerns that may arise with Client and Vendor accounts.
  
• Coordination and management of the annual audit and compliance process.
  
• Implement a tax efficiency plan.
  
• Developing proposals, reports and sales presentations in collaboration with the Growth Lead.
  
• Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets and resources.
  
• Prepare monthly/annual budgets/projections as required.
  
• Manage the capital expenditure and maintain the fixed asset register.
  
• Provide direction, guidance and advice to management and employees.
  
• Train and supervise Finance Dept staff.
  
• Provide operational insight to streamline organization process flows.
  
• Assist in preparing financial proposals and government bids to enhance compliance and responsiveness.
  
• Prepare letters and varied Finance Dept documentation as required.
  
• Any other duties as assigned by the CEO.
  

Requirements

1. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration or a similar field.
   
2. Master's Degree in related field desired
   
3. 4-6 years of progressive experience in financial accounting.
   
4. Relevant certification (e.g. ACCA or CPA) is required.
   
5. Project Management certification is not required but would be beneficial.
