Position Overview

Arlo is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the government contracting industry, with a deep understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, particularly in the areas of journal entries, reconciliations, and contract management. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors

Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation
Develop SOPs and materials for usage by all teams to ensure adequate support and similar approaches for like type entries
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for the company
Create, reconcile, and approve assigned balance sheet accounts for business units
Research unreconciled balances and collaborate with teams to ensure proper clearing
Develop automation to improve accuracy and create efficiencies
Review purchase orders for accuracy in coding
Enter contracts into CostPoint with appropriate CLINs, labor categories, costs, points of contact and all other required contract data
Create monthly cost pools journals
Perform other accounting duties as requested

Education and Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
8+ years of experience in government contracting industry with understanding of FAR and CAS
Must have experience reading and interpreting government contracts
Expertise with Deltek CostPoint
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
