As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting strategy, for leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably, for growing and developing talented engineers, and for cultivating a healthy, results-driven culture on your team.

The AI team aims to revolutionize the operation of security and compliance programs. We are doing so by streamlining the tedious Q&A process in security reviews and arming our users with actionable insights based on their business context and Vanta’s subject matter expertise.

It’s essential that we stay on top of the cutting edge technologies, cultivate innovation across the organization, and unlock more values to customers and business. You’ll leverage your domain knowledge and past experience to drive the technical and strategic AI vision forward

What you’ll do as a Senior Engineering Manager leading the AI team at Vanta:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable machine learning infrastructure. You are expected to roll up your sleeves and get hands on when necessary. 

  • Prioritize and oversee the AI research effort at Vanta to unlock new opportunities for the business. 

  • Drive significant impact for our customers and business by leading teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably

  • Develop and hire teams of talented and kind engineers

  • Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities

  • Work closely with Vanta’s customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and infrastructure

  • Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s engineering culture

How to be successful in this role:

  • Experience managing an AI/ML team in the past 

  • Passionate and energetic about the future of AI.

  • Have two or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering manager role

  • Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc) in a prior role

  • Have prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Have previous startup experience, or worked in an environment that prioritizes a bias for action

  • Have an interest in learning about security or prior experience in the space

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $230,000 - $271,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
