Our Headquarters office is seeking a Senior Billing & Coding Specialist to oversee our documentation and billing compliance, including training of our providers. In this role, you will interact with Revenue Cycle Management, Providers, Counselors, and other service providers. If you are a caring, dedicated professional who possesses strong communication skills and a true desire to help others, this is the position for you!

What you will do:

  • Overseeing the documentation, billing, coding and state regulations for services rendered within the company
  • Analyzing and monitoring coding and medical record documentation for compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Meeting with medical staff (individually or, if appropriate, as a group) to educate on compliant coding for maximum revenue within provider specialty
  • Auditing of clinical staff notes and informing/training clinical staff on payer contracts and updated regulations
  • Assisting the billing department with claim errors based on medical records requests, incorrect CPT code submitted, updating diagnosis codes, updating modifiers as needed for claims reprocessing
  • Reviewing the records requested by payors before submission
  • Evaluating current compliance plan and making recommendations to the Head of Quality and Compliance for changes
  • Attends workshops, seminars and or conferences to keep up to date of standards and best practices within the field


You are a good fit if you have:

  • Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO)® certification required
  • 3 - 5 years as a coding compliance specialist
  • Exceptionally strong work ethic
  • Team player with an “all hands on deck” attitude, organized/able to multitask
  • Must have proven experience working effectively in a remote work environment


This position is remote (work from home) with expectation of attending team meetings no more than once quarterly. Candidates must reside in one of the following states: District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia.

Work from home requirements:

  • Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
  • Company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset) plus a remote work stipend.
  • Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
  • Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.


This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary range for this position is $50,020 - $66,490 annually + equity + benefits. The final compensation package is influenced by various factors such as experience, education, degrees earned, market data, and business requirements.
