Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Cloud Architect with substantial experience in assessing cloud maturity, setting up cloud landing zones based on well-architected frameworks, and driving transformational initiatives. This role is crucial in architecting cloud strategy and implementing robust cloud solutions, steering an organization's digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the organization's current cloud maturity, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for cloud transformation, outlining the progression from the current to the desired state of cloud maturity.
  • Design and establish cloud landing zones in accordance with well-architected frameworks to ensure robust, secure, and efficient cloud environments.
  • Architect and implement comprehensive cloud solutions aligned with the organization's transformation and strategic growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement cloud strategies, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Design, automate, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure components using services from providers such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Drive the cultural shift towards cloud-native practices, including serverless architectures, microservices, and containerization.
  • Develop and execute monitoring, metrics, and logging strategies to enhance application performance, security, and reliability in the cloud.
  • Mentor cloud and software engineering teams, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and cloud best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of the industry.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to cloud architectures and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Cloud Architect, demonstrating a successful track record of leading organizational cloud transformations.
  • Proven experience in assessing an organization's cloud maturity, developing strategic transformation roadmaps, and setting up cloud landing zones based on well-architected frameworks.
  • In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools, with strong expertise in Terraform.
  • Proven experience in building self-service provisioning platforms and empowering teams to provision and manage infrastructure resources independently.
  • Deep understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience managing complex, multi-tier cloud applications.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and database concepts within a cloud context.
  • Expertise in designing and building cloud solutions for data platforms, including data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to inspire and lead teams.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or similar (professional certifications in AWS, Azure, and GCP preferred).
  • Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native technologies.
