Job description

The Vacancy

RSK Consents Solutions, a part of the RSK Group Ltd, is looking to recruit a Principal Wayleave / Surveyor to work on a full time, permanent basis. This is a remote role, with the requirement to travel UK Wide so a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport is needed.

RSK Consents Solutions is a one-stop organisation that specialises in managing the complete consents process for infrastructure and development: from route identification, feasibility studies, land assembly and land referencing through to applications requiring statutory powers, landowner negotiations and compensation. We help to navigate a project from inception to completion and aim to minimise the potential risks and delays so you can get on with what you do best. We specialise in managing and minimising the risks of potential projects by applying our years of industry experience to produce the best strategy for your goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • To obtain landowner consents, wayleaves and easements relating to all utility sectors including Gas, Water and Electricity across the U.K
  • Reporting to the Associate Director assisting with the day-to-day management of a team and supporting team members working on complex projects.
  • Securing access arrangements from landowners and occupiers
  • Negotiation of wayleave agreements, easements, leasehold arrangements
  • Consultation with relevant statutory bodies to obtain necessary environmental assents and consents
  • Preparation and submission of relevant planning applications along with any other industry relevant planning applications, or exemption notifications
  • An appreciation and understanding of D.C.O. Projects and demonstrations of experience within that field


Person Specification

  • Qualified to a minimum of Assoc. Rics level ideally fully qualified to RICS Level
  • Relevant utilities industry experience in similar roles
  • Full UK driving licence required as will the need for flexible working regarding type of work, timing and location
  • Appreciation, or good understanding of The Electricity Act 1989 and application relevant to the role
  • Knowledge and appreciation of utilities construction and maintenance operations
  • Experience of liaising with landowners, occupiers, statutory and non-statutory consultees in respect of utilities apparatus
  • A good understanding of the rural environment and agricultural practices
  • An effective problem solver, confident negotiation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information
  • Establish and maintain good client relationships and identify opportunities for further work in order to contribute to meeting the team sales target
