Internal Communications Executive

Location Commutable distance to Winchester

The role

  • Working closely with the Digital Communications Manager
    • Manage, maintain, and develop internal corporate channels including maintaining accurate distribution lists e.g. SharePoint intranet and microsites, e-newsletters, Teams live events.
    • Own and drive content planning across our suite of internal corporate channels, leading weekly editorial meetings and supporting ‘air traffic control’ via the communications calendar so that audiences are not overwhelmed by multiple messages.
    • Establish and implement guidelines, policies, and best practices for each channel to protect the colleague experience and the integrity of our communications, and to ensure consistency and compliance, supporting internal stakeholders with training and resources as required so that they can self-serve where appropriate.
  • Curate, create and distribute content, using creativity to translate complex information into engaging, effective communication, including video and podcast production, PowerPoint presentations and digital/visual communication tools and assets, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Lead the measurement of each channel, creating a regular cycle of review and evaluation, proposing improvements, and working with the wider communications team to implement strategies to measure impact of campaigns and share insights with business stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitor and engage with emerging technology and communication tools to innovate and augment our suite of communication channels for the future.
  • Manage relationships with 3 rd party suppliers as required (e.g. iStock, Campaign Monitor, creative agencies etc).
  • Work closely with other parts of Arqiva where appropriate to ensure consistency of message and compliance with security and IT policies. For example, working with IT to integrate and deploy upgrades and Marketing on brand guidelines.
  • Support business continuity/crisis situations with content creation and distribution as required.
The person

  • Blend of project management with strong interpersonal skills – organised and proactive with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively and confidently with peers and stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Relates tasks to plan and can not only deliver own accountabilities, but proactively manage project team / stakeholders where input is required against agreed deadlines.
  • Can build internal communications plans that include a range of ideas and practical solutions. Understands the different channels and their primary purpose and can recommend accordingly.
  • Creative, with a technical and digital mindset. Experience with the Microsoft product suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), including Sharepoint intranet is a necessity and working knowledge of Viva Engage is desirable.
  • Can demonstrate visual creativity for a range of platforms / situations. Experience with video production and using the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop, or equivalent, is desirable.
  • Has a solid understanding of how to measure the impact of internal communications.
  • Meticulous approach to proofing and editing content with excellent attention to detail to ensure communication is delivered error-free.
  • Ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Takes an audience-centric approach to content development and communication into the business, ensuring alignment and volumes are managed effectively.
  • Curious and innovative.
