Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Training Director to manage our team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and trainers. The Training Director will oversee the delivery of training programs to our clients, ensure the continuous development of our training team, and contribute to internal projects and initiatives. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and operational management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage a team of SMEs and trainers, ensuring high-quality training delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to align training initiatives with company goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
  • Training Program Development and Delivery:
  • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of training programs.
  • Ensure training content is up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.
  • Utilize trainers effectively to meet client training needs and internal project requirements.
  • Technical Oversight:
  • Vet and validate technical information and training materials.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges related to training delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technologies and industry trends.
  • Operational Management:
  • Manage resource allocation and headcount for the training team.
  • Oversee project and program management related to training delivery.
  • Ensure efficient and effective training operations.
  • Talent Development:
  • Hire, develop, and mentor SMEs and trainers.
  • Implement continuous improvement and professional development plans for the training team.
  • Evaluate and improve training methodologies and delivery techniques.
  • Client and Internal Engagement:
  • Engage with clients to understand their training needs and customize programs accordingly.
  • Work on internal projects, including training company staff and contributing to consulting and pre-sales efforts.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and training impact.
  • Strategic and Enterprising Mindset:
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance the company’s training offerings and market position.
  • Identify and pursue new training opportunities and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a "get things done" attitude and drive projects to successful completion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the IT training industry or a similar field.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to validate and address technical content and challenges.
  • Certified trainer in one or more technologies (e.g., CTT+ or equivalent).
  • Experience in resource management, project management, and operational oversight.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and enterprising mindset.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and manage diverse responsibilities.
  • Experience in consulting, pre-sales, and internal project work.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and manage a team of SMEs and trainers.
  • Strong academic background with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced certifications in relevant technologies or training methodologies.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning technologies.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
