Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced OT (Operational Technology) Security Engineer with expertise in common OT technologies as well as security products like Claroty, Zscaler, Qualys and Delinea to join our team.

The OT Security Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and availability of our operational technology systems, with a focus on implementing and managing security solutions utilizing these products.

This role requires a deep understanding of industrial control systems (ICS), cybersecurity principles, and hands-on experience with OT security technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and Configuration: Deploy, configure, and maintain Claroty, Zscaler and Delinea products within OT environments to monitor, detect, and protect against cybersecurity threats.
  • Threat Detection and Incident Response: Utilize Claroty and Qualys solutions to actively monitor OT networks for suspicious activities, anomalous behavior, and potential security incidents.
  • Develop and execute incident response procedures to mitigate threats and minimize impact.
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and remediation on OT systems to maintain a robust security posture.
  • Risk Assessment and Compliance: Perform risk assessments to evaluate the security posture of OT environments and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as NIST, IEC 62443, and others.
  • Security Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and maintain security monitoring dashboards, reports, and metrics to provide visibility into the security status of OT systems.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including management and technical teams.
  • Security Architecture Design: Collaborate with OT engineers and architects to design and implement secure OT architectures, considering both operational requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Training: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to OT staff on cybersecurity best practices, including the use of Claroty, Zscaler and Delinea products.
  • Foster a culture of security awareness and vigilance within the organization.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of OT protocols, architectures, and technologies, including SCADA, PLCs, DCS, and HMIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Claroty, Zscaler, Qualys and Delinea products, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and best practices, particularly in the context of OT environments.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing in OT environments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound security decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Education Preferred:

Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC etc) preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience working as an OT Security Engineer or in a similar role.

This is a progression position, level I-IV, based on experience.
