What does a Learning Experience (LX) Designer do? Think of yourself as someone who is responsible for the creation of engaging learning experiences. Not just anyone is qualified for this role! We make sure we get the best of the best. After all, we are a ridiculously good company, so we make sure our employees are top-notch. So come on, now we need your full attention because it’s time to imagine what it’s like being a LX Designer.

Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: to get rid of traditional classroom training and replace it with personalized learning ecosystems delivered on-demand. As you tackle your new tasks for the day, you know that it will lead to one thing: providing thought leadership in the application of instructional design strategies and methodologies, particularly in the areas of learning analytics and design, to deliver learner-centered training solutions across all levels in the organization.

As an LX Designer, you will create authentic and memorable learning experiences for our new hires and tenured teammates. You will also collaborate with the Learning Media Development and LMS Administration work streams, as well as PST Teams, to design, develop, and implement innovative self-paced solutions and evaluate the effectiveness of such. Some of the key tasks of an LX Designer are to analyze learning needs and determine the skills and competency levels required for different tasks. As an LX Designer, you will identify training objectives and performance targets and define the instructional design strategy that will meet those desired outcomes.

Is that all? Well, no. As an LX Designer, you will also scope and outline training content, build training curricula and lesson plans, and write storyboards and scripts. You will also design facilitator and participant guides and facilitate train-the-trainer (T3)/knowledge transfer (KT) sessions. You will also create knowledge and skills assessments and conduct other activities to evaluate learning effectiveness. You also need to discover and implement techniques to drive online learning adoption and content usage. As an LX Designer, you also need to continually update and improve your knowledge, skills, and behaviors related to instructional design, adult education, and training evaluation. The success of an LX Designer is measured through the implementation of training programs that reflect a learner-centered teaching philosophy. We evaluate if identified learning/performance gaps were addressed and if defined KPI targets/goals were hit. We also look at whether training improved absorption and retention and if agreed timelines were met.

Do you have what it takes to become an LX Designer?

What is it we’re looking for? Well, since this is an LX Designer post, we need someone who already has the skills to even call themselves an LX Designer. So if you have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, that’s great! Do you have a degree in instructional design or any related course? Even better! And, it’s a huge plus point for you if you have a master’s degree in instructional design, distance education, or educational technology.

We need someone with at least 3-5 years experience designing training programs and developing related training materials. We also need someone with 3-5 years experience conducting learning needs analyses to identify situations that can be addressed by training solutions. Someone who has knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and evaluation principles and practices would definitely have an edge. We’re also on the lookout for someone who has experience defining measurable training goals and learning objectives (in all three learning domains). And if you’re someone who can develop appropriate learning assessment strategies and instruments, you could be a great fit!

Are you someone who can easily work with new software, including courseware authoring tools (such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline), and has experience applying e-learning design principles and practices in using a learning management system (LMS)? If you can say yes to both, then you may be the person we’re looking for.

An LX designer should demonstrate the ability to make logical decisions (after looking at key facts and exploring alternatives) and propose quality solutions. We need someone who has the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, and interact professionally with peers, management, and other departments. We also need someone who exhibits strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.

Finally, if you are self-motivated and exhibit behaviors aligned with TaskUs’ core values, let us know—you could fit right in!

How We Partner To Protect You: TaskUs will neither solicit money from you during your application process nor require any form of payment in order to proceed with your application. Kindly ensure that you are always in communication with only authorized recruiters of TaskUs.
