Job Description

Seeking smart, self-motivated, well-rounded Quality Assurance Engineers who excel at identifying defects, solving problems, and have a quality-first mindset. Must value teamwork and communication. Will work closely with other Quality Assurance Engineers assigned and Software Engineers to ensure consistency and reliability of manual testing efforts. Will also work closely with Software Automation Engineers to identify candidates for automation and ensure automation adequately covers software features. Must be adept at learning new technologies quickly.

What you'll do

  • Plan, design, document and perform manual tests for software and hardware products.

  • Identify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate development.

  • Identify, reproduce and report actual or potential product defects, providing detailed configuration, reproduction steps, and descriptions for defect tracking.

  • Assist in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.

  • Evaluate issues identified by our clients and customer support team, documenting defects, or clarifying procedures as necessary.

  • Coordinate activities across customer support, engineering, product management, and QA teams to resolve issues in a timely fashion.

  • Participate in reviews of feature descriptions; recommending modifications to maximize system functionality and quality.

  • Communicate quantitative and qualitative findings from test results to the development team.

  • Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meets end-user expectations.

  • Identify areas for improvement to enhance the product's efficiency.

  • Help establish, document, and enforce standards, procedures, and specifications for manual testing.

  • Work closely with Automation Engineers to assess test coverage, triage test failures and hand off manual test definition for automation implementation.

  • Work closely with a distributed global team of software engineers and QA engineers.

  • Collaborate designs with team members in order to find the solution that best fits the requirements.

  • Execute manual test plans/cases as part of defect resolution, system test, regression test, and post-release testing.


Basic Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience designing, documenting, and executing manual test cases.

  • Thorough knowledge of web application testing including system, end-to-end, regression, and performance.

  • Experience testing REST APIs using scripting or tools like Postman.

  • Ability to use Browser development tools needed to test and troubleshoot web applications.

  • Ability to write SQL queries to mine data for product testing and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.

  • Ability to work effectively and communicate with members of the development team and stakeholders.

  • Ability to rapidly deliver and iterate on new products and feature enhancements, from initial product development through launch.

  • A passion for excellence and high productivity, motivated by providing Rave’s customers with an excellent user experience.

  • Experience using tools such as Jira, TestRail and/or Zephyr for defect tracking and test management.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Advanced English - be able to communicate effectively in English (read, write and speak)

Above and Beyond

  • Experience developing performance / scalability testing.

  • Experience with Security Testing.

  • Thorough understanding of HTML and XML markup languages along with JSON used for server to browser communication.

  • Experience with database testing including designing and manipulating test data.

  • Experience testing and troubleshooting mobile applications running on iOS, Android operating system.
