Vulnerable children in the UK need your help
Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you'll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
Last year, we helped more than 670,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
A bit about the role
Are you a proven IT Project Manager looking for a challenging role where you can make a significant impact? Join our compact IT Project Team, where you'll manage multiple projects simultaneously and undertake Business Analyst tasks such as requirement gathering and task analysis.
We adopt the Prince2 Methodology of project delivery, mostly waterfall with some hybrid approach.
Although this is a fully remote role, mostly working with teams of people who are also remotely based, there will be some travel required as part of this role for either departmental needs or to successfully deliver the projects being managed.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Lead the Data Governance and IT Security Project, forming the core of your workload, alongside other technical projects.
- Collaborate with both internal technical teams and non-technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Comfortably work with colleagues across various departments, regardless of their technical background.
- Operate within a hybrid project delivery approach, utilising the Prince2 Methodology, which is well-established within our organisation.
- Provide support, advice, and guidance to colleagues self-managing projects.
Let's talk about you
- In-depth experience in writing fully budgeted business cases, with the ability to compile justifications, complete project plans, ascertain costings, and provide options, based on input from sponsors and SMEs.
- Demonstrable experience in project lifecycle delivery in a technology or Social Care setting (preferred)
- Happy to lead meetings, present work up to C-Suite.
- Willing to manage remote project teams and stakeholders and deliver projects in this way.
- Experience of business analysis, process mapping and re-engineering.
- Understanding what good design, development and testing looks like to enable robust discussions with technology resources and suppliers on the project.
Good to know
Interviews to be held 23rd and 25th July 2024.

Don't meet every single requirement?
