This role is part of the E.ON Next Planning & Performance Team and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play their part in helping us create experiences that our customers rave about.

As a Forecasting Analyst you will be identifying and delivering detailed analysis of forecast trends and accuracy as part of the pre-demand/ demand review process that underpins strategic and operational decision making to drive the best possible customer outcomes.

The Forecasting Analyst will join the Planning & Performance Team and will be responsible for the development of an integrated and consistent approach to forecasting across the Residential, SME and Credit business areas whilst working closely with associated internal stakeholders to ensure forecasting models map resources against demand and estimate the impact on performance.

The Forecasting Analyst role presents a great opportunity to develop your analytical skills further in E.ON Next by working across a number of different operational areas to help deliver the best possible service for our customers. You should already be confident at manipulating and analysing complex datasets and in communicating the results to a range of stakeholders.

Critical required forecasting capabilities are as follows:-

  • Applying your numerate, analytical and modelling skills by using Google products, particularly spreadsheets, to provide detailed analysis of trends and forecast accuracy

  • Developing and continually improving demand forecasting models

  • Investigating and understanding operational processes or incidents and how they create data footprints which can be used to enhance forecasting models

  • Assisting with the development and integration of initiative activity into the budgeting process

  • Working closely with Operations Managers and Team Leaders to produce and maintain resource plans and forecasts refining requirements to maintain customer and colleague happiness metrics

  • Leading meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss trends, exceptions to the statistical forecast, upcoming known activity and all other relevant issues that may impact the overall forecast

  • Working collaboratively as part of the wider Planning & Performance Team and Operational Teams to contribute to building a high performing culture

  • Taking responsibility for delivering challenging objectives

  • Developing and generating value adding operational MI that delivers insight or drives action

  • Analysing call and channel volume history by tracking and trending telephony channel metrics, email and social media to ensure proper planning, accurate resourcing, and workload identification

Skill Set for Role

Essential:

  • Previous experience within a Planning/ Forecasting analytical role, working with large, complex data sets and ability to summarise and present commercial insights from the data

  • The ability to deliver and maintain robust forward forecast demand and FTE plans for mini businesses including the resource requirements from recruitment and OSPs

  • Previous experience of producing insightful data and a reporting suite to inform future decision making

  • Great communication skills and the ability to translate detailed analysis into simple, digestible insight and recommendations suitable for use by senior leadership team members

  • Experience of working cross-functionally and the ability to build strong relationships

  • You can think of customers as well as commercial outcomes

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working with data warehouses and basic experience of using SQL as part of data exploration toolkit

  • Experience of interpreting user actions into data footprints

  • Energy industry experience

E.ON Next’s working model – how do we work?

Our people are based across the country and our locations are Leicester, Nottingham, Bolton and London. This role will be based out of Bolton, Leicester or Nottingham.

We’re completely flexible in how we work which is a hybrid of office and remote working.

We don’t expect our people to be in the office all the time. Our offices are resources used for team meetings, joint on-site working and where people need to work in the office if they can’t work from home effectively.

This role is likely to be required on site 2-3 days per week, on an “as needed” basis.
