Job Description:

The Executive Specialist will handle a regular diary of Cyber claims and must have experience handling first-party Cyber claims. The Executive Specialist will be expected to handle Incident Response and must analyze and resolve claims from coverage determination through resolution—including Incident Response, regulatory investigations, business interruption, litigation and/or negotiation.

 

These claims involve a high degree of technical evaluation and often include complex issues. Experience handling Cyber claims is required, and prior experience in Professional Liability, Commercial Crime and/or D&O claims is also preferred.

 

This position will report to a Manager of Executive Risk Claims.   

 

What you will do:

  • Accountable for the full handling and control of all claims assigned including: coverage analysis and letter writing; investigation; incident response; evaluation; timely reservings; diary maintenance; management of counsel and other vendors; reinsurance reporting; and claim disposition.
  • Claim presentations, both written and oral, will be required on a regular basis to bring management up to speed, obtain authority and/or formulate appropriate action plans on difficult claims.
  • Superior customer service to all co-employees, agents, policyholders and others encountered during the claims handling process is expected. Further, where needed, the Executive Specialist is expected to market claim services and coordinate and participate in presentations to customers or potential customers.
  • May work on special projects, as assigned.

 What you will bring to C&F:

  • Preferably at least 4+ years of experience handling cyber claims, with prior experience in law and/or insurance. Opportunities for more experienced adjusters, and salary will be commensurate with experience.
  • Juris doctor required.
  • 6+ years of overall related experience required.
  • Must possess multiple state adjuster licenses.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with support staff, claims staff, underwriting peers, policyholders and senior management.
  • Travel required for occasional in-person attendance at mediations, settlement conferences, trials and industry conferences.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs.

The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $105,800 to a maximum of $176,300. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
