Summary:

Goldbelt Taku is seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The Database Administrator will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our organization's databases to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in database administration, with expertise in database design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate on architecture and modeling of database related development.
  • Monitor performance of database for SLAs/degradation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
  • Logical and physical database design and database tuning.
  • Manage and clean the database audit trail and archive logs.
  • Ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Stay current with PostgreSQL features, trends, and best practices.
  • Implement the conversion of existing databases to meet new release requirements.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of database management technology and investigate problems and inefficiencies in a well-established database environment.
  • Determine the impact of new or revised software on system operations and applications.
  • Investigate factors such as amount of storage space consumed, access times, frequencies of reads and writes, and problems encountered by other application and systems programmers using the DBMS software.
  • Evaluate and determine alternatives and initiate corrective action to recover/restore data and return system back to normal operations.
  • Administer day-to-day database operation and maintenance in an environment in which the system software is typically available from vendors and widely used.
  • Ensure that the database efficiently collects, stores, and processes data.
  • Runs utility routines/programs and investigates when reports indicate a decline in computer performance.
  • Develop and maintain security procedures to guard against unauthorized intrusion into databases.
  • Develop procedures and recommend methods to insure rapid access to all data. Analyzes use of archived data and develops ways to insure optimum use of existing systems.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of AWS services.
  • Expertise in database management systems (DBMS) such as DoD STIG, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in database performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex database issues and identify effective solutions.
  • Ability to speak fluent English with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Sound understanding of coding and development processes.
  • Ability to write clean, easy to understand code.
  • Experience with working in an agile environment.
  • Experience with full-stack development.
  • Well-versed in technologies such as C#, JavaScript, and SQL databases.
  • Capability to collaborate with a group of developers.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a multicultural environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree from an accredited college or
    university.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Tier-3 / National Agency Check with Law and Credit (NACLC) background investigation in accordance with DODI 5200.02-DoD Personnel Security Program (PSP).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in software development/IT.
  • Experience with database monitoring and management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., DOD STIG Training, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) a plus.

The salary range for the position is $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually.
