The Role
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Builder Tools engineering team in our Developer Lifecycle organization. The Builder Tools team works to provide a dependable code development platform from local development through CI for all FanDuel’s engineering teams. This includes administration over our code repos, artifact repository, and build systems.
We’re looking for passionate & experienced technologists, strong communicators, and those with a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to both learn from and educate others. In the role of DevOps Engineer you will work amongst multidisciplinary teams, tackling complex problems to create world class infrastructure as we continuously build out our exciting and innovative developer experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work on a platform engineering team which supports the development of performant and reliable applications across FanDuel.
- Contribute to conversations to remove blockers and foster collaboration across teams
- Collaborate with various cross-functional software engineering teams to enhance and unify our overarching engineering culture.
- Translate overarching strategic goals into actionable and detailed plans that can be readily implemented by engineers.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency across the organization.
- Champion standards and baselines for uplifting engineering across FanDuel.
- Build and maintain a continuous integration system that supports an efficient developer lifecycle for our engineers.
- Embrace change and rapidly adapt.
- Proactively identify new opportunities and advocate for and implement improvements to the current state of projects — potentially having broader business impact across teams or products.
- Approach tasks with a growth mindset and experiment with new approaches, learning, owning the outcomes, and sharing what you learned so that others can learn from it
- Identify and support areas of growth for teammates that consider their unique skills, strengths, backgrounds and working styles
What You’ll Bring
- Familiarity with continuous integration systems such as: Buildkite, CircleCI, or Jenkins
- Experience with administrating artifact repositories such as Artifactory
- Experience in software development (e.g. Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc..)
- Strong experience with delivering programs and projects via tools like Jira
- Transform strategic objectives into actionable programs of work, leading to the execution of effective and successful outcomes
- Proficient in developing applications related to Platform engineering, Infrastructure engineering, DevOps, etc..
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform)
