Your missions

Program Coordinator, ASAPConnect
100% Remote within California, Sacramento Area Preferred, some travel required

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. The Foundation for California Community Colleges is on a mission to double its impact in the next 10 years. We are a group of relentless optimists and innovators in education, working collaboratively with public and private partners to help improve the student experience and expand pathways to economic and social mobility in communities across California.

What You’ll Do

ASAPconnect was launched in 2008 and has been a fiscally sponsored project of the Foundation for California Community Colleges (the Foundation) since 2022. Unlike the Foundation itself, ASAPconnect supports programs for Kindergarteners through 12th graders. ASAPconnect helps to ensure children and youth across California benefit from high-quality out-of-school time learning and enrichment opportunities, resulting in positive developmental, academic, and wellness outcomes and increased readiness for college, career, and civic life.

The Program Coordinator works with the ASAPconnect team and coordinates with other statewide and national partners to ultimately increase the quality of out-of-school time programs in California. The Program Coordinator provides executive level programmatic, operational, and administrative support to the leadership team of ASAPconnect; coordinates project and field activities and communications including social media, as well as office services, operations and procedures; and maintains project records and documents to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. As a member of the ASAPconnect team, the Program Coordinator makes independent decisions about day-to-day operations and completes project management responsibilities in partnership with the Senior Director, Innovation & Impact.

  • Coordinate the activities of ASAPconnect team members including scheduling meetings, coordinating meeting logistics, and documenting meeting notes.
  • Provide core support for in-person and virtual employee and partner meetings. Become extremely familiar with virtual meeting technology, facilitate portions of meetings when appropriate.
  • Support the ASAPconnect team with expense reports, tracking expenditures across multiple funding streams.
  • Coordinate with ASAPconnect team members to set annual calendars, ensure meeting materials are prepared in advance, and implement ASAPconnect team communications.
  • Coordinate virtual meetings and presentations. Record the content utilizing virtual meeting technology, and post content on the ASAPconnect website or other channels as needed.
  • Support grant report preparation and grant management.
  • Effectively plan, coordinate, organize, and assist with field activities, meetings, events, learning sessions, presentations, conferences, and site visits by overseeing meeting planning activities, securing venues, preparing materials, coordinating and scheduling speakers, arranging and coordinating on-site event staff coverage, making travel arrangements and ensuring documentation and follow-up.
  • Attend conferences and events throughout the state to help disseminate information and materials, as well as supporting and occasionally delivering conference workshop presentations when appropriate.

Attributes for Success

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience with office management, project management, coordination, customer service, or related responsibilities including some experience providing executive-level support required.
  • Familiarity with or experience working in afterschool programming, and/or related education and/or youth development fields.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Solid organizational abilities including planning, project management, and task facilitation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations.
  • Ability to maintain confidential nature of data and information.
  • Demonstrated respect for and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Any experience in an education or nonprofit environment is preferred.
  • We’re recruiting for mission-driven, passionate, equity-minded individuals with a strong desire to impact and change people’s lives for the better
  • Our work holds great weight and responsibility, and the opportunity to impact the lives of millions
  • Innovation, creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship are encouraged as employees work to achieve organizational goals
  • FoundationCCC blends the impact of a non-profit, the culture of an entrepreneurial start-up, and the scale of a state agency
  • Team members are hired for their expertise in niche areas across our areas of impact and higher education overall, and for their knowledge of business, philanthropy, technology, communications, and more
  • We have a commitment to professional development and an emphasis on shared leadership, to ensure growth for employees and the organization overall
