Sales (SA) covers end-to-end sales to customers and advocates customer intimacy. Comprises selling of products, services and solutions, and building and maintaining relationships with customers and potential customers. Contains management of customers, partners, and accounts while focusing either on a specific target group, specific products, services, solutions, or a territory.Note: population would be under the sales incentive plan.

Subfamily Description

Account & Cust. Relatnshp Mgmt-CSP (RMC) comprises the creation and development of profitable relations with customers (incl. multi-geographic customer businesses) or new businesses through direct customer interface for a profiled customer base by implementing a strategy for a specified customer account, products, services, or solutions. Contains management of customer interactions and driving of sales for Nokia's offering. Covers creation of sales channels to grow new businesses in completely new prospects / markets and / or existing accounts targeting new revenue streams. Contains conduction of end-to-end business management (sales and delivery) for all customers and opportunities within the responsible scope.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Business Development Manager for Nokia optical products. Specifically the 1830 PSS and PSI transport platforms. Must have knowledge of DWDM and the Optical Transport market. Must understand coherent transponder technology. This position requires a good understanding of the wholesale transport service provider space, selling 100G, 400G, and soon 800G services

  • Accountable for generating new business within a defined scope (new customer, new technology / products, etc) and achieving significant business impact.
  • Identifies and wins new business opportunities and obtains necessary approvals.
  • Creates and manages top / middle management contacts within the customer's organisation.
  • Responsible for orders, sales and customer satisfaction of the new business.
  • Uses knowledge on how the job contributes to the corporate goals as well as knowledge of industry and competitive landscape to increase own effectiveness.
  • Solves highly complex or novel problems based on sophisticated analytical thought and complex judgment.
  • Influences strategic decisions within own defined scope of business that affect the performance of higher level organisation or even broader organisation to sustain competitive advantage.
  • Acts as a senior subject matter expert, typically at a global or regional level who serves as best practice / quality resource and is an acknowledged authority both within and outside own organisational unit.
  • Leads cross-functional business team with considerable risk, complexity and resource implications.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Must be able to create and defend a Business Case, and understand margin analysis.
  • Must have good people skills and the ability to interface with our customers at a senior level.
  • Prefer a BS degree in an Engineering discipline minimum, with at least 10 years of experience in Optical Networking
