How you’ll be impactful:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational stability, security, and efficiency of our infrastructure. You will collaborate with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage code releases and deployments. You will also be involved in the automation of the system’s operational processes, as they move from a physical to a virtual or cloud-based infrastructure. Monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in our dev, test, and production environments are key aspects of your role. Your goal is to build scalable and reliable systems that support our software development and business objectives, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You own our infrastructure in the Google Cloud Platform / Amazon Web Services. 
  • You help others to run their software. Your monitoring system will alert early before customers notice an outage. Your automated alerting will help the application team to fix the root cause quickly    
  • Maintain, optimize and monitor our Gitlab CI pipelines. You set the standards used company wide and you will help other Engineers on how to automate their application deployment.  
  • Support our engineers with operation-related topics and provide them with knowledge regarding modern cloud infrastructure    
  • You will help us with architecture discussions, technology selection and planning of changes to the system landscape     

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Long time experience in hands-on positions and enjoy, besides coding, to support others and help them grow  
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies (GCP, AWS), Terraform as well as, Docker and Kubernetes 
  • Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services 
  • You are transparent about your work, in the form of demos, presentations and reporting to a variety of internal stakeholders  
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, share knowledge and enable others  
  • Comfortable to work both independently and as a team member
