Job Description:
We are in the hunt for exciting tech-savvy Journalists with a vast exclusive stories portfolio and a deep understanding of the tech industry. Ideally, with an experience of working with major direct competitors (Techcrunch, Mashable, Wired, and The Verge) and a wide contact base in the tech industry.
Our leading tech flagship website, a source of insightful and analytical tech content, seeks an experienced News Journalist - Tech to join our team. This role is perfect for you if you want to cover groundbreaking developments, gadget and security leaks, consumer tech trends, and innovations. Our ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with a knack for uncovering exclusive stories that set us apart in the tech news landscape.
Responsibilities:

Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, using this knowledge to inform content creation and editorial direction.

Exclusivity and Innovation: Research, pitch, and produce exclusive news stories that have not been covered by other media outlets.

Expertise in Core Areas: Specialise in one or more of the following key areas: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Tech companies, cybersecurity, consumer tech, or gaming.

Sourcing: Cultivate a network of reliable sources within the tech industry, including insiders in AI, big tech firms, cybersecurity domains, and other relevant fields. Leverage these contacts to obtain exclusive information and insights.

Content Creation: Write compelling, accurate, and timely articles that meet site's editorial standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial team to align on content strategy, pitch ideas, and ensure a cohesive and comprehensive coverage of the tech landscape.
Qualifications:
- At least five years of experience in journalism or content creation, with a strong portfolio of published articles, preferably in the technology sector.
- Proven ability to uncover and write about exclusive tech-related stories that other media outlets have not covered.
- A strong network of sources in the technology industry, particularly in AI, big tech, and cybersecurity.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Readiness to work quickly, remotely, and autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications:

Data Analysis Skills: Comfort with data analysis tools and methodologies. Capable of interpreting data trends and translating them into compelling stories or insights for a tech-savvy audience.

Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning: Understanding of AI chatbot training, algorithms, and current trends in machine learning.

Experience with Visual Content Creation: Proficiency in using AI-powered tools like Midjourney for picture generation and visual storytelling.

Social Media Acumen: A strong grasp of social media trends and platforms. Experience in using social media to research stories, engage with audiences, and amplify content reach.

SEO Knowledge: Basic understanding of SEO principles and best practices. Ability to optimize content for search engines to increase visibility and reach.
