Swift Charge is revolutionizing long-distance electric vehicle (EV) travel with our innovative hospitality EV charging network. Utilizing proprietary tech that slashes upfront costs by over 70%, Swift Charge de-risks infrastructure investments and deploys charging stations in hotels and other hospitality locations. Since starting in 2022, Swift has expanded quickly and is on track to become the largest hospitality EV charging network in Canada.


Role Description

Swift Charge is looking for an Operations Coordinator (New Grad Intern) to join us in our mission to build the largest hospitality EV charging network. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter who would cherish the opportunity to be part of a growing startup and enjoy the creative freedom and additional responsibility of working in a small, dynamic team. The ideal candidates should be versatile and fluidly transition between multiple tasks in sales and project management. You will find qualified opportunities by responding to inbound interests and targeted outbound prospects to build rapport and establish long-term relationships. You will also coordinate and manage project activities to deploy EV charging infrastructure, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets and facilitating effective communication between team members and stakeholders. As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with various internal team members, including sales and supply chain, to outline technical project requirements and effectively address deployment challenges. This is a full-time internship role in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, or Vancouver. This internship role has a start date of June 3, 2024, and an end date of Dec 31, 2024, with an opportunity to turn into a permanent full-time role at the end of the internship. Responsibilities

  • Identify and assess new partnership opportunities to develop electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
  • Cold call key decision-maker at hotel ownership group to drive interests
  • Provide technical consultations to potential site hosts
  • Update and manage all sales activities, opportunities, and account information in CRM
  • Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads, and follow through to a successful agreement
  • Develop and execute plans to deploy electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure alignment and compliance with EV charging commissioning regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to EV charging equipment, collaborating with support teams and service providers as needed.
  • Understand the target markets, including industry, public policy, regional programs, companies, and projects, and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
  • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry, and positioning
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on the competitive landscape

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate from a post-secondary program in a business program or a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) program
  • At least one year of sales or cold call experience
  • Experiences in a fast-paced early-stage technology startup
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-evolving start-up environment.
  • Passion for clean, renewable energy and mobility sectors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Ability to fluidly transition between multiple tasks, including sales and project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
